Start with the most heavily loaded castor
Total equipment weight divided by four is only a starting estimate for a four-castor frame. An uneven floor, flexible frame or offset load can change the load carried at each corner. Record the empty machine mass, maximum payload and centre-of-gravity position. Ask for a selection review where load sharing is uncertain.

Treat the mounting frame as part of the selection
The bracket, plate and equipment frame carry the same operational forces. Check the drawing and installation requirements alongside wheel dimensions. Increasing wheel capacity does not strengthen an underspecified frame or eliminate impact loads from poor floors. Sample approval should include the loaded equipment, not an isolated wheel.
